Terms and conditions

The Rose City International Conductor's Workshop is an educational program of the
Rose City Chamber Orchestra, a 501c.3 registered non-profit organization based in
Portland, Oregon USA.

All applicants are assumed to have read and accepted the terms and conditions
contained herein.

Fees and Conditions for Refunds-
Application Fees, Video Fees and Tuition Deposits (First Tuition Payment) are always non-
refundable.

While every effort is made to avoid them, the Rose City International Conductor’s
Workshop reserves the right to make changes in repertoire, schedule, faculty and facility
at any time. Students who wish to cancel their participation in the workshop as the
result of a change may petition the Workshop committee for a refund of tuition, but
refunds are only offered at the sole discretion of the committee, and will only be
granted in the most unusual circumstances.

Students who cancel less than 21 days for any reason before the workshop may
request
a tuition refund. Refund’s will generally be offered when there is another applicant to
take the vacated spot in the class, but are otherwise only offered at the sole discretion
of the Rose City International Workshop, and will only be offered in the most extreme
and unusual situations. Under no circumstances will Application Fees, Video Fees or
Tuition Deposits (First Tuition Payment) be refunded.

Video and Audio Recording
Students are welcome to use video and audio recordings of their teaching sessions and
performance at the workshop in applying for jobs or other educational programs,
personal professional development and education. They may not broadcast, sell or
webcast any portion of their performances without the written permission of the Rose
City International Conductor’s Workshop. Generally, the workshop will allow
reproduction and distribution where appropriate and legal.

Students may bring their own video cameras and recording equipment to the
workshop, but may only use them to record their sessions if they have paid the Video
Fee. Recordings made on a student's own equipment are subject to the same copyright
restrictions as the official workshop recordings

Students agree to allow the use of their name, image and recorded performances from
the workshop in future workshop promotional materials. In general, however, the
workshop will not use any images or recordings over the objections of a student.

Food and Lodging
Food and lodging during the workshop are the responsibility of the student. However,
some home-stays may be offered by friends of the workshop. These are offered as a
courtesy, and the workshop and the host families accept no liability in connection with
them. If you would like to request a home-stay, please contact the office.


Scholarship Conditions
Any and all students offered any form of scholarship or work-study support must email
back their acceptance of the scholarship contract. Scholarship students who cancel
their participation  less than 21 days before the workshop agree to be liable in full for
the amount of the scholarship or work-study contract, to be paid within 14 days of their
cancellation.

Code of Conduct
The Rose City International Conductor’s Workshop and the Rose City Chamber
Orchestra are committed to making this a positive experience for all participants. We
pledge to deal with any concerns or questions in good faith.

The mission of the Rose City International Conductor's Workshop is to provide professional
training at the highest level to emerging conductors from all over the world. All
applications are considered without regard to age, race, creed, orientation, gender or
ethnicity.
